rmxy by robert dietz & arnaud le texier !! born in france, it is in ibiza/spain that luc ringeisen founded the records store vinyl club in 2003, wich has been an important element in the spread of underground electronic music in ibiza (and therefor in europe...). the record label vinyl club recordings created in 2005 went immediatly succesfull and helped to discover some of the best underground music producers of the moment such as petre inspirescu, jonas kopp, and some of the best djsproducers of the world famous clud dc-10/ibiza (circoloco). luc ringeisen is nowadays resident dj at underground-club / ibiza and the vinyl club recordings events take place all over europe, having its main residencies in berlin (where the label headquarter is since 2007) and in ibiza. for his debut on safari he delivers 2 tracks absolutely pure quality.

the enclave of both established artists and fresh undiscovered talent whose shared passion of deep underground detroit influenced house and disco are reflected in the quality output you will come to expect from the label. franc spangler, the revenge, zepp001, john daly, alpha child, 6th borough project, tuccifunk and pezzner are just some of the producers creating their work with tender loving care for delusions. dog01 will be setting the standard with the soul part ii from craig smith & the revenge. these boys are currently riding a wave of successful releases, mainly in the form of their disco and boogie edits under their 6th borough project guise on instruments of rapture. here we see them move into original production territory with a bass heavy slice of brooding and grooving floor friendly house but with their own unique twist. tempos are kept low, drums are kept live sounding and the subtle italo synth lines all ensure this track keeps true to their roots in disco. for their 6th borough project dub they dive head first into a slowly building, drum and percussion heavy workout which has a beautiful tension to it. this is music for small basements with big sound systems. finally we have john dalys beautiful interpretation where he opts for a blissed out, understated and hypnotic sound that wraps you up in layers of warm, echoing synths whilst the groove chugs along masterfully. a true mood setter or after hours classic

the final record from oakland, cas psychedelic quartet, the gris gris, was recorded live at the warehouse where greg ashley resides. the twilight had come and the fat lady sang. the final bell tolled for the brightest sons of the oaklandish psychedelic revolution. here is the final piece to that hazy, mysterious, yet strangely familiar sound this band created. with songs from both records played with ferocity and sonic mayhem, the story of the gris gris is here. bright. swirling. gnarly. electric...

this lovely duo hails straight from the pacific, where they have been busy working on some outer space cuts. well, actually they are taking us on a trip through the more adventurous side of 80s english indie music. something we at moxie like very much.

after a recent guest performance on seuil’s eklo label, michael melchner - the young producer and dj from nuremberg - is back with another stunning ep for cargo edition. melchner is the resident-dj of the ‘kiss klub“ party series at nuremberg’s famous club ‘die rakete’, and music aficionados will have had their eye on this up-and-coming artist for a while now. this time around michael melchner dishes up three top-notch house tracks for us. “you understand“ is techhouse at its best, where he deftly holds and rides that balance between deepness and the dancefloor. a continously forward-pushing bassline is combined with a mysterious vocal sample and restrained breaks. „wooob“ grabs you with its devastatingly simple rhythm, while the bassline cuts through with a high dose of funk. topping the track off we have a vocal loop that shows off michael’s affection to the musical beginnings of house. this ties in nicely with the ep closer »just a skip« which reminisces over the sound of chicago. profound melodies, skillfully arranged vocal samples and a whole heap of soul suggest that michael melchner may just have produced a modern house classic. so again, just like on his first ep for cargo edition in may last year, michael melchner has managed to paint a musical portrait combining the present and the past into one classic moment.

we re not sure if theres been a whole lot of russian vocal led synthy disco around of late / ever, but we definitely like the idea of it. and so we have the first release on the brand new tirk affiliated label nang. d pulses sound is a sonic cocktail that represents the different flavours of its ingredients. great for dancing, as well as regular home listening, making love or preferably cooking. you can call it russian house, full of spirit, soul and its own philosophy. now on to the tunes. the foto mix of more combines cold robo synth bass and stripped back rhythms with the haunting tale of love, loss and the ultimate fulitility of existence (probably). the original mix lives up to the live jam side to the d pulse manifesto with organic funk and jazzy chops leading the way. fellow russian alcos coolkas carries on where his new work on tirk left off, with simple but sparkling and sophisticated electronics working away with snippets of the vocal to mesmerising effect. the package rounds off with the spacey, warm, instrumental highway to saturn. nang has launched!
